The Stationers’ Company announces a new judge for the Innovation Excellence Awards
Dr Kate Stone to join the judging panel for the Stationers’ Innovation Excellence Awards 2023.
The Stationers’ Company is delighted to confirm the judges for this years’ Innovation Excellence Awards.
The panel comprises Liverymen Vida Barr-Jones, Peter Day, Tim Webb, and Past Master Helen Esmonde, who were joined by Dr Sally Beken and Freeman Andy Wilson last year, bringing experience on innovative polymers and sustainability, and interactive media services respectively.
This year, additional expertise comes from tech founder and innovator Freeman Dr Kate Stone who will join the judging panel for 2023.
Dr Stone is a British tech founder, who received her PhD in physics at Cambridge University. Now living in Los Angeles, California, Kate sits on the Editors’ Code of Practice Committee, and is the founder of Novalia which creates posters and other everyday objects that embody the magic of interactivity and connectivity, including installations for Disney and McDonalds, and the world’s first playable DJ Pizza box for Pizza Hut!
As well as developing innovative products, Kate is an experienced speaker on tech, diversity, creativity, and how using kindness helps us to find our truest selves – most recently the keynote speaker at Cal Poly’s 2023 IGCW, Kate has spoken twice on the TED stage.
The Panel is co-chaired by Court Assistants Jill Jones and Linda Drew.
Entries are encouraged from across the communications and content industries - including global, SME and non-profit businesses with start-ups again welcomed in a specialist category. Industries include packaging; paper making & paper converting; printing; trade, academic & information publishing; educational technology; newspaper & magazine publishing; fine stationers, greeting cards & office products and related intellectual property, archival, and digital born businesses - all are welcome to submit entries in these inclusive Awards. They remain free to enter, and entrants do not have to be members of the Stationers’ Company to apply.
Entries will close at 7pm on Friday 21 April and judging will take place over May and June, with the Awards ceremony on Monday, 25th September.
