Access to Research Celebrates Its 10th Year

With great pride, 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Access to Research, a service that provides free, walk-in access to over 40 million peer-reviewed articles from leading academic publishers at 99% of public libraries across the country.

Created from a partnership between the Publishers Association, the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers, and Libraries Connected, Access to Research has enjoyed the support from both the publishing industry and public libraries across the UK. 

For ten years, the service has empowered students, academics, professionals, enthusiasts, and people from all walks of life to explore the latest cutting-edge research, and now, access to reliable, in-depth, and curated information has never been more important. 

The Access to Research team at PLS is overjoyed to be able to celebrate this milestone with Access to Research users, library staff, participating publishers, and everyone who has been part of this decade-long journey. 

We, therefore, ask you to pay close attention to announcements we will be making through the year about how we will be commemorating 10 years of Access to Research.
