PA Carbon Calculator

The Publishers Association has launched a “Carbon Calculator” to help publishers review their sustainable practices. Designed by the Research Institute of Sweden and software company Solstice, the tool will help businesses monitor their carbon outputs across various aspects of their business, including across different sites and departments. This carbon calculator is the first and only that is bespoke to the UK book and journal publishing industry.
PPA Sustainability Resources
Professional Publishers Association supports corporate environmental responsibility. The PPA has signed a voluntary Responsibility Deal with the Government that commits the industry to undertake various initiatives over a five-year period, with the aim of mitigating the environmental impact of UK magazine media. The PPA Sustainable Action Group drives progress to achieve the targets outlined in the Responsibility Deal.
ALPSP commits to the SDG Publishers Compact
The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) joins organizations across the publishing industry by signing up to the new Sustainable Development Goals Publishers Compact initiative. ALPSP aims to encourage and inspire action in achieving the goals by 2030 across the publishing industry
